Now I know we do have skis up here now, but you can also use this for fishing rods too. And the way this is gonna work is we're gonna have these buttons, and I'm actually not a big fan of this design because it can be kinda hard to hit if you have those thicker gloves on, but if you kind of use just the side of your hand, you'll be able to open 'em up too. more

And this is really one that's a great option if you're trying to get your skis from point A to point B, because putting 'em on top of your roof is gonna be a much better option than trying to stuff them in the back where it's gonna be really cramped. The one we have today is gonna be the one that can carry up to four skis for two snowboards. The other size is gonna be a two ski, a three ski, and a six ski, but they're all gonna work the same way. Now this is a really nice option for carrying your skis from point A to point B. Especially since in this Sorento, yeah, you do have a little bit more space to put them back there, but it's definitely not gonna be a comfortable fit. more

I've worked with a good amount of ski and snowboard carriers, and the general concept of how they clamp down onto those skis, and snowboards, and fishing rods is pretty much the same. Now this does have some extra design features to it though, and things like how the universal clamps work, as well as how it has two different options for clamping included, and you don't need to get separate hardware. Now, this is a nice versatile sport rack that'll let you carry two pairs of skis, two snowboards, or two to four fishing rods in the carrier here. Just to show an example, I'm gonna pop up an insert and there they are in use installed on a platform rack. You can see with the carrier closed, it's holding two skis and a fishing rod. Now, they do use on the inside here a nice cushioned top and bottom 1-1/4 inch rubber padding which will ensure excellent grip without scratching your gear. more

It features the same button and spring loaded arms to open it up, but on the inside where they've got the rubber padding there's an additional pad in the middle with cutouts where we can add our fishing rods in and give them a good place to be held and secured down. more

This is designed to work with a bunch of different types of crossbars, whether they have T-tracks or not, and I'll show you how to install them later. Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how the Yakima FreshTrack fits on top of our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, excuse me. So this is gonna be a rooftop ski and snowboard carrier. It's gonna hold your gear in between these two spring-loaded jaws that open up to reveal these large rubber pads on the inside that will grip down on our gear, both protecting it and keeping it still. Now, this method of carrying skis and snowboards is really nice because it's going to be a lot cheaper than a rooftop box, it's gonna be more space effective, and it won't add near as much height to your vehicle. The downside to that though is that your gear is going to be exposed to the elements. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier on top of our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, that's gonna be a way of carrying your skis and snowboards between these two spring loaded jaws. It's going to be probably my preferred way to carry stuff like this, just because the alternative, a rooftop box, can get very large, very bulky, adds a lot of height to your roof, and they're typically much more expensive than this type of carrier. So if you're really just using it for your skis and snowboard, something like this is a nice option. You've got this thick rubber padding in between to hold your gear in place, protecting it, but also, providing grip so it doesn't shift around. It is lockable so you don't have to worry about people messing with it when you're not around. more

So this is gonna be a rooftop ski and snowboard carrier that holds your stuff between these two spring loaded jaws. They've got thick rubber padding in there to both protect your gear and provide some grip to it so it doesn't move around when you're going down the road. It's gonna be a nice way to carry your gear in a more cost effective way and it's a lot less bulky than something like a rooftop box. more

So, this style of carrier is going to open up and carry your gear in between these two padded jaws. There's thick rubber padding in there that's gonna both protect and cushion your gear while also giving it some grip. This one is pretty unique because most of these carriers come for skis and snowboards and they're a lot larger. more

So, this is gonna be a roof mounted carrier that wraps around our crossbars and gives us a place to hold our skis on the snowboards between these two spring loaded arms. There's a very large button to open those. Very easy to press with a glove or a mitten. more

So, just press the large button on the outside, open it up and we've got these thick rubber pads that are gonna keep our gear nice and protected in there, helping to provide padding, but also grip. more

This is gonna be a roof-mounted carrier that clamps around our crossbar, so you will need a roof rack to make this work. But for me, this is a really nice way to carry your gear. A lot of people like using a box, and those are nice because they are enclosed and locking, but the problem with rooftop boxes is they can get very large and they add a lot of height to your vehicle. They're hard to store when it's not on your vehicle, so you gotta find some place in the garage to keep it. more

It's gonna be a roof mounted carrier that'll attach to your crossbars, so you will need a roof rack to make this work, but it's going to be a set of the spring loaded arms that hold your skis or your snowboards in between these thick rubber pads. It's gonna do a number of things, it's going to help protect our gear, but also, keep it gripped. So you can see there's no back and forth movement when I shake the vehicle by the snowboard here, everything's really secure in there. Now, a lot of people like using rooftop boxes to carry their skis and snowboards, because they're enclosed and lockable. more

A ski and snowboard carrier for your roof is a great way to get some of that gear out of your car and up on top of your vehicle where you've got some more room and you can transport them safely. A lot of people like to use rooftop boxes for this because they are enclosed, but the problem with boxes is that they can get very expensive, they're very bulky and they're hard to store whenever they're not on your roof. This is gonna be a nice low profile solution, much more cost effective, and when it's not on your roof, it's easy to store in the garage and put somewhere out of the way. more

Hi everyone. Aidan here at etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima FatCat Evo 4 ski and snowboard carrier on top of our 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. It's gonna be a way to carry your skis and snowboards on the roof between these locking jaws. It's gonna hold them with these padded jaws and keep things well protected with those rubber pads, but also well-gripped. You can see everything's very secure inside and if you need a little bit more room than what we have here, Yakima does make a larger version of this. more
